This treatment combines  two in one – Microneedling and Radio Frequency at the same time. The tips of the needles heat up with radio-frequency energy to boost collagen production, causing contraction and stimulation in different layers of the dermis – 3mm, 2mm and 1mm. This process results in skin tightening, firming, and redefinition of the facial contours over time.

The micro-needles and heat caused by radiofrequency create controlled microdamage that jumpstarts your body’s cell-regeneration process. Hence, this treatment stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin – resulting in plumper, firmer, and smoother skin, with less fine lines and also reducing the appearance of enlarged pores.

Good candidates must be in good health, have signs of skin ageing and realistic expectations. This treatment can benefit people with all skin tones, thickness and types, as the energy level and depth can be customised for your skin.

The results are not visible straightaway, as it takes approximately 28 days to form new collagen. Visible results can be achieved 15 to 20 days post-treatment – and continual improvements can be seen up to 3 months post-treatment.

During your consultation a skin therapist will advice you in regards to the number of sessions, but usually we recommend at least 3 to 5 treatments every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your skin type and condition – and also your main concerns. You can have top-up treatments spaced 4 to 6 months apart. It’s important to highlight that each person is unique and an in person consultation is required to precisely determine that.

We use num cream/topical anaesthetic in our patients 45 minutes pre-treatment. You may feel some mild-moderate heat or stinging sensation during the procedure and usually it’s well tolerated by most patients.

In most cases you can apply sunscreen, makeup, and return to normal daily activities after 24 – 48 hours. Downtime is typically 2-3 days, as you may experience swelling in the treated area (edema), local skin redness (erythema), and the sensation of heat that can last around one to seven days. In some cases, it’s expected to have tiny pinpoint scabs in the skin. Also, patients may experience bruising of the skin which will quickly subside as the skin heals over the following week. On the body, the micro-injuries or dots can take up to 10-14 days to clear.

• currently or recently (past 6 months) used Accutane (Isotretinoin)
• active acne breakout
• mild or severe sunburn – sun-exposed or used tanning creams for the past 4 weeks
• have an active cold sore breakout
• have had fillers of anti-wrinkle injections for the past 2 weeks
• have an active herpes
• have a skin infection
• have a moderate to severe skin disease (like psoriasis, rosacea, melasma, skin cancer)
• are receiving radiation therapy or chemotherapy
• are pregnant and/or breastfeeding
• are taking anticoagulants
• have a history of poor wound healing, keloids, hypertrophic scarring
• heath conditions like diabetes, cancer, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism
• autoimmune skin conditions or cardiac conditions

• avoid tanning products 4 weeks prior treatment
• avoid waxing, plucking or using depilatory creams 3 days prior treatment
• do not use exfoliant creams or active products 72 hours prior treatment
• avoid cosmetic injections 2 weeks prior treatment
• avoid sun-exposure for at least 5 days prior treatment
• purchase at the pharmacy a topical anaesthetic and apply it on the treated area 20 minutes prior to your treatment. Or, if you prefer, we can apply it on you

• avoid getting the area wet for the first 12 hours
• do not have cosmetic injections for at least 2 weeks
• avoid physical activities, hot showers and sauna for the next 48hs – 72hs
• do not touch your skin for the next 8 hours (wash your hands before to do it)
• avoid spray and self-tanning for the next 2 weeks
• avoid active products or exfoliation for at least 7 – 10 days
• wear SPF 50 or greater for at least 4 to 6 weeks after your treatment. Your skin will be very sensitive to the sun during this time.
• refrain from shaving/waxing the treated area for at least 5 days
• use antibiotic creams or emollients if your doctor prescribed them
• use a gentle cleanser after your treatment
• Avoid wearing makeup for 72hs (preference for light mineral makeup)
• After 72 hours you can return to your skin care routine
• drink plenty of water for hydration
• A mild sunburn-like sensation is expected for the first 24hs – 48hrs

• itching
• swelling
• mild acne flare-up
• cold sore breakout

These side effects might last for a few hours or days.

• signs of infection
